Being frequent flyers at The Twelve Hotel, Barna, Co. Galway we know exactly what to expect…. pure luxury both for dog and human!!!

On arrival at the hotel, Tucker knows exactly where he’s going and heads straight for the elevator to reception (after getting some pets from guests in the car park of course). Into reception and we are all welcomed into the warm and friendly atmosphere.

Humans are delivered a refreshing drink while staff "oh and ah" over Tucker deliberating what breed he is and commenting on what a lovely coat he has!

After check-in, it’s up to our room which was one of the newly converted pet suites. Tucker was straight in to see what was in his doggie welcome bag, treats galore, a toy, and some poo bags for the humans (the glamour).

Pet suites have a doggie bed and food and water bowls are provided! Dogs are welcome in The Pins Bar and restaurant and are always well looked after (water bowls on arrival and treats throughout). They also have their very own pet menu and Tucker highly recommends the cupcakes!
On our visit there were quite a few other dogs visiting, all very well behaved and spoilt beyond belief! It truly is a doggie holiday heaven. During our stay, we were delighted to hear that The Twelve Hotel had been awarded the Georgina Campbell best pet-friendly hotel of the year award and it’s so well deserved!!! Once you have experienced a visit here you will just keep returning again and again!!

In the area there are plenty of amenities where dogs can stretch their paws, the pier across the road is nice for a short after dinner stroll, local beaches are quiet and scenic for longer walks and of course Barna woods for those that enjoy a woodland adventure!

From Barna, we traveled on to Doolin, Co. Clare. Ready for our next dog-friendly accommodation Ceol na Dtonnta

Welcomed by the lovely Miley and the resident dog Tinkerbelle, this dog-friendly B&B is like a home from home. A doggie welcome bag on arrival with lots of delicious treats and cosy rooms to settle into.

Dinner that evening was in the dog-friendly Ivy Cottage. Dogs are welcome in the outside area which is adorned with fairy lights and heaters for when the evening gets chilly! Back to the B&B and a chat with the Shetland ponies next door. The doggie guest book is just adorable too!!!

A huge thank you to both Georgie and Tucker  for sharing their pet-friendly holiday with us! It sounds like they had an absolute PAWsome time, exploring the dog-friendly activities around Barna as well as the stunning Doolin area.

It has been an absolute joy being able to see so many pups getting treated like superstars at these ultra dog-friendly hotels across Ireland!
