Ashford Castle is an 800-year-old castle set on a 350-acre estate. This historic hotel is the royal adventure of your dreams. The former home of the Guinness family, you will enter through the grand stone gates to a lush paradise of landscaped gardens, ancient woodlands, and an emerald lake. There are 83 elegant rooms and suites, fine dining at any one of their 6 on-site restaurants with world-renowned chefs and sommeliers, award-winning spa services, sauna, and steam room. Now, your V.I.P.s (very important pets) will be welcomed with a collection of pet-friendly services. They will have their own plush dog bed, fluffy doggie towels, duvet, food and water bowls with fresh spring water, and even a turndown dog treat. Ashford Castle has an additional fee of €75 charge per dog per night.

Castlemartyr Resort, Co. Cork


Castlemartyr Resort sits on a 220-acre estate and is adjacent to the historic landmark of an 800-year-old castle that was first built in 1210 by The Knights Templar. Richly steeped in Irish history and tradition, Castlemartyr Resort also boasts a 17th-century manor house where guests will be able to enjoy the lush countryside views, direct access to an 18-hole golf course, and even a carriage tour of the estate! Our four-legged friends will enjoy being within walking distance to nearby woodlands, and then returning to either their luxury pet-friendly hotel room or their equally as luxurious self-catering accommodations on the Resort’s grounds. All pups will be greeted with their very own welcome gift in the room, as well as a map of the nearby woods and dog-friendly beaches to make the most of long dog walks in the beautiful Irish countryside.

The Castlemartyr Resort allows a maximum of 2 pets per room, with a maximum size dog being no bigger than a standard Labrador. For dog-friendly hotel rooms, there is an extra charge of €50 for the first night and €20 for any additional nights. In pet-friendly self-catering rooms, the additional charge is €100 for 7 nights or €20 per night for stays shorter than 7 nights.
